I always disliked the 'addition' the screenwriter added to the great finale in the book (wherein Billy eats the pie himself), especially that terrible last sequence where Billy shuts the front door, a huge stupid GRIN on his face...(ARGH!!)...

Apparently the 'addition' was made because test audiences disliked the original ending...but come ON, it's a HORROR film...and as Lempke said 'There is no poosh...even the innocent have to pay a price'...

So I submit here, for you BOOK ENDING fans, my re-edit of the ending...(I have also created a fan edit of the entire film, 'THE MIST', which replaces the studio ending with the original novella ending, among other edits...
