It is a story about the struggles of a girl who goes from being a timid, afraid but determined girl to a successful women who did things drawn by love of a man who inspired her to be what she was. Geisha – a word that can be interpreted in many senses but when we look from the eyes of a Geisha herself she is an Artist who is affluent in music, dance and entertainment. They cheer you up even when there own life is on a downhill. When she is dragged away from her family and village she did every effort to get back to it but later on understood the necessity to move on in life. She was in a gloomy state for quite a long time till her guide met her and guided her on the correct path. As a childhood influence grew to a teenage crush all her actions were driven by the desire and later when it turned to an adulthood love she can’t just move on without it. This book also portrays the life of common people of Japan during world war II and how the war affected the towns and lives of people. The massive destruction and restoration of Japan to it’s formal glory. It highlights the fact that even though it is difficult to find hope in the disastrous times the hope of the world when there dreams come true is the only hope keeping them alive. World might be beautiful again if you can hold on through those times. So this is a journey through Japan, through Chiyo’s sorrows, her inspirations, her fights and her love.
