The Dude Abides says:

I actually saw Blair Witch in the theater on it's opening weekend. We had seen the marketing for it and really didn't know if this was actually a real event or not when we saw the movie. It was genuinely unsettling and a creepy movie. I remember everyone in the theater really loving this film and being freaked out by it. Ahhhh the good ole' days before the internet and spoilers.

numb hoodie says:

this movie is garbage lol

Sillfallstar says:

Internet then was a pretty new thing. And I really give credit to the marketing strategy of this film.. and I mean AMAZINGLY DONE!! This film really scared the hell out of me during its time because the timing was just really perfect. I bet 100% if any reboots or sequels are not as successful as this one. The only time I realised it was not real was when I saw the characters presenting an award. Their budget vs box office was staggering. NO EFFECTS, NO OSCAR AWARDS TYPE OF ACTING… JUST MARKETING. It was pure film brilliance. 🙂

Jon155 says:

I definitely fall into that 2nd group of ppl, which is why I couldn't even finish watching the movie. I just missed my chance to enjoy it when I was younger. I don't hate the movie though, I just don't find it interesting enough to finish watching. But based solely on what other people know (or didn't know) about this movie I can see why many ppl love it.

MrRobynLover says:

bbc are showing it tomorrow dude – is there an anniversary? they werent teens tho they were 22, 23 and 24 as many of us learned years later, from the press promo stuff in hindsight

Ebefren Revo says:

After 22 years we ll wait for a nobody on youtube review a acclaimed succesfull movie.

Fuck off.

Luis Campuzano says:

I love your videos. I was one of those kids who went to see it in the teather with a friend…and my mom. It was a shocking film to us back in the day. A lot of people thought it was real, myself included. Then blairwitch 2 happened and killed the franchise.

Treasa Lynam says:

reboot is SHITE…

WestEagle423 says:

Talks about how amazing the movie is.
Gives it a B

TyMovieReviews says:

Great review! I just rewatched this film now that it is on Netflix and it is still TERRIFYING. Absolutely love this film, and it's my all time favorite horror movie. It really puts all the subsequent found footage films to shame

brian thomas says:

It is definitely one of those cases where you had to be there in order to truly get the fear factor, as well as having to appreciate horror that goes beyond the typical slasher or jumpstartle fest.

Kaleb Arancelovic says:

I watched The Blair Witch Project twice. The first time in 1999 and the second time 2 weeks ago. What makes it such a good movie is you feel the fatigue and frustration of the characters when they're lost in the woods. On top of that, it was creepy.

Donald Sterling says:

I watched it for the first time alone on edibles and to be fair that was an amaxing decision

Anthony Gonzalez says:

I think what did it for me and got me the most creeped out was how slowly the 3 characters were losing their minds and how evident it was, Mike rocking back and forth saying he finally found some smokes. Creepy

Chris Dell says:

I prefer "THE LAST BROADCAST."

Joakim Otamaa says:

Found footage format is one of the worst gimmicks ever like motion controls on video games.
