TheReadingWerewolf says:

I'm very interested in the Magicians series. I've heard some good things about it.

hellangelRJ says:

Oof, my heart hurt a little hearing about the lightning thief, but you mentioned not being interested in adventure books so I get it.

Arielle Simpson says:

I fucking LOVED The Marriage Plot. I read it after Middlesex (and I read The Virgin Suicides in high school and I honestly don't remember much of it. I'll have to reread it). I feel like I'm the only person that loved The Marriage Plot. Not as much as Middlesex but still….

Abigail Waldron says:

I absolutely loved "You" and was so invested into Joe. The whole book made me question my moral values, I wanted Joe to succeed so bad. When he killed (spoiler) I would justify it in my head and be 100% on his side.

Kylar Duncan says:

Read Enders Game and Enders Shadow (the parallel novel) the film is not an accurate representation of the book, actually the film is quite shitty.

JonnyCinco says:

The magicians is great

theunicornreader says:

FINALLY someone who also doesn't like Miss Peregrine's 😀 ugh I was so bored and DNF'ed it

tianasbookreads says:

The Percy Jackson series is so bad don't read it

Ashley Canter says:

Wow, I had no idea about Cassandra Clare. Makes me not really want to read her books anymore.

L OShea says:

If you're not big on sci fi, a good book to try is Ursula K. Le Guin's The Lathe of Heaven. It has an interesting premise, which is told in a straightforward way.

Robert-Alexandru Tilica says:

1. The Mortal Instruments.
2. Magicians is my second favorite series/book and I also related very much with Quentin.

embits says:

sees pjo aw hell na 😭

Devon Munn says:

Yeah, and people think Edward and Bella's romance from Twilight is revolting, Edward is physically stuck as a 17 year old, but Emma can actually get old if she leaves the the loop

Yara Abbo says:

I died a little inside when you said Percy Jackson. Haha I love that series, but I do recognize it's not everyone's cup of tea.
I totally get you on the Jane Austen thing. When I watch adaptations I adore the stories but reading the book is difficult.
And yes, the Perks of Being a Wallflower film is fantastic, though I didn't find the book particularly memorable when I first read it.

Great video!

Kelly Blaine says:

I think that if you're trying to get into sci-fi or just want a fast read I recommend Illuminae which you've probably heard of. If you haven't it's all made up of like online chats and things like that and even though it has a lot of pages, I read it super fast. I don't normally like sci-fi but I loved it!

jose silva says:

finally! someone agree's with me on cassandra clare!! thank you! i feel like a lot of people buy the books just because its a big hype or a trend, even after most of them say "i didnt enjoy it the book, but it was fun to read". it just doesnt make sense to me.

Catriona Reads says:

I really didn't enjoy Northanger Abbey the first time I read it but I now know that's because I didn't realise that it's a parody of the Gothic Romances popular at the time. I'm planning on re-reading it at this time and viewing it in that light and hoping for the best. I love the rest of Jane Austen's novels though, I'd particularly recommend Sense and Sensibility.
I love the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy but because I know the TV series so well, which I find hilarious, the books are hard to get into. Very British humour

akaMissFierce says:

Thank you for being a popular booktuber who is honest about Cassandra Clare. I feel less alone now in my opinion of her.

TheDailyDanny says:

great videooo! I just did this tag too if you wanna check it out!

Daniel And His Books says:

Did you watch the trailer for the Miss Peregrine Movie? Hopefully Tim Burton will make a good job, you should give it a chance! 🙂

Jakob Tanner says:

Such a well done video! “Baby x-men” hahaha. I’m always skeptical of novels filled with pictures and rely on things other than the text. Also, I thought The Marriage Plot was a great well-written guilty pleasure novel compared to Eugenides’ other work (I thought the first section was the best!) I also loved The Magicians (I can’t understand why everyone hates it haha) 🙂
