Lovecraft forever, baby. First ever heavy metal album had a big nod to the master author (Sabbath's "Beyond the Wall of Sleep"), just like the nod given to him by author William Burroughs, who coined the term "heavy metal."

what about Dune? Star Wars was inspired by it

Thread Bomb says:

The collections of the early stories of Ray Bradbury are a great introduction to sci-fi and horror: The Illustrated Man, The October Country, R is for Rocket, and many more titles.

Ethan Ainsworth says:

‘I AM LEGEND’ is fantastic! And I just got and am yet to read ‘I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream’, A Poe collection, a Lovecraft collection, ‘Frankenstein’, ‘The Strange Case Of Dr.Jeckell And Mister Hyde’ as well as ‘1984’. I’m a big sci-fi guy and I’m actively getting more into horror reading. Can’t wait for more of this and AVGN.

Pat Pear says:

I'm amazed he didn't crack a joke when mentioning Jekyll and Hyde

Pineapple says:

James I don't know why I enjoy just sitting down and listening to you discuss books you've read, but I do. I hope you continue with this episode and maybe get more into individual books/writers/genres. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that I don't have any friends but I enjoy talking about this… (full disclosure: I did not speak to James while watching this video like it was some one-sided Skype call.)

Michael Bourdages says:

I read Sphere recently and it's overall amazing ….then I bought the movie and oh boy oh boy 😵

Adam Watson says:

Do more of these they're terrific!
