Katadactyl says:

Well… my Murakami recommendations aren't romance… but… I really love Kafka on the Shore & Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. Thanks for the romance recommendations! You sounds really interesting 🙂 Happy reading!

Alyssa Steiner says:

I love A Certain Slant of Light… did you know the author came out with a companion novel called Under the Light. both very good

Vivian Vande Velde wrote my favorite YA novel, too! I'll have to check out your recommendation, since I've loved "Dragon's Bait" for years and haven't really been able to find more from her.

caguamon loco says:

For Murakami I would recommend you Hard Boiled Wonderland and The End of The World. His kind of "cyberpunk" book. It was the first I read and it still remains my favorite.

Biblio Nyan says:

Norwegian Wood is my absolute favourite book, it's just exquisite. I loved it. I would definitely recommend South of the Border West of the Sun, if you like Norwegian Wood. It's another one of his beautiful romance novels. Sputnik Sweetheart is also very good, bittersweet yet touching. I also recommend Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki & His Years of Pilgrimage. It's lovely magical realism. Sorry, went a little nuts. XD Obviously, he's one of my favs. :3

YouFoundMarina says:

Atonement is one of my favourites too. There's so much about humanity within the book and that always wins me over haha

mx sb says:

Hi Katie: I still think the best — in my opinion, of course — "romance" novel is Love Story by Erich Segal, and, naturally, I can't go past D. H. Lawrence's "The Virgin and the Gypsy". I was reading the latter at school (in England), under the desk during every other lesson, and was caught out and the book confiscated by my teacher. I went out and bought another copy. At the end of that year my teacher returned the book he had "stolen" from me and said: "Bloody good book, what!"

Alexandra Linford says:

Ive read a certain slant of light and loved it too. Have you read the sequel Under the Light, it's on my list but not read it yet x

getbookish says:

If anyone can execute a solid love triangle, it's our old friend Crazy-Eyes Jeffrey Eugenides. 🙂 -L
