Emotional Intelligence, written by Daniel Goleman will put you on the path to better understanding how EQ works and what you can do to cultivate it. Now, there are actually 8 intelligences that have been categorized, but we’re going to look at emotional intelligence. So why is emotional intelligence so important? You can tell the difference between a robotic person with no emotions and a charismatic intellectual who seems to move a whole audience, and their bank accounts, friends, and love lives can as well. In fact, Daniel Goleman says those who have just enough IQ to get into a decent university, but have stellar EQ are the ones who rake in the most cash, so how can you develop your EQ, and can you even cultivate it? So empathy is the ability feel and react to the emotions of others. So there’s this stereotypical thought in modern society that to get over our feelings we must talk about them, at that helps to some degree, to cognitively think about subconscious feelings. But venting does not help. At least, in most situations. I suggest to learn more about managing relationships successfully to check out Gary Vaynerchuk’s channel.
