Nick Koster says:

Ugh, now I want to know the working titles for Eragon. I like this kind of stuff! Abandoned concepts & what-not

Nick Koster says:

I've read the first Eragon book twice. I got halfway thru the second (was enjoying it much more than the first), but got bogged down w/ other things, & never returned to it. Someday I want to finish the Cycle tho.

firey171 says:

A few thoughts. I really love Christopher Paolini giving your channel honest and glowing compliments.
As someone who has been struggling to write/rewrite a story that I'm not sure I will fight to publish, the point about "knowing what the story is ABOUT not just what happens" is EXACTLY where my writer's block came from a few years ago. I've been struggling ever since … and hearing that really clicked for me about why.

Thank you,
From a struggling writer for hobby

who_the_fuck_is_riley ? says:

My main man, my favorite author of all time. I always love watching Paolini interviews. The Inheritance cycle is what made me fall in love with reading when I was in my early teens.
Woah. The title things make so much sense.
Eragon- Erahon is the core of the story
Eldest- Murtagh, Morzan, Eragon, and Brom's relationship is the main focus
Brisingr- Eragon's connection to Oromis, the elves, and the spell brisingr
Inheritance- Eragon inheriting the riders, Arya inheriting the role of Du Weldenvarden's leader, and Nasuada inheriting the throne of the world.

Jordi Hamilton says:

The part where Saphira is influenced by eragon's thinking and through his language – it fits with the linguistic relativity hypothesis really well.

AMAZING INTERVIEW!

Zayd Quadri says:

This is cool!

Gaby Gibson says:

The man, the myth, the legend! The fact that he wrote and was published at 19 is amazing.

Aryan Mikhail says:

Hau did yaeu now dragon egeso much

Wabb1e says:

can they make Eragon a show with a huge budget so it can be done right

Matthew Gibson says:

Yes, comeupance for bagging on his dragons! Lolol (@23:34)

Jose Beteta says:

39:00 I work in the US military. As someone who has traveled on one part of the world and arrived on the another side on an earlier date than when I departed (aka, essentially traveled more than 24 hrs on the same day), I do wonder if faster-than-light (aka hyperspace) travel between worlds makes you arrive on later or earlier times

Jose Beteta says:

25:33 I think I remember that Brom, when he was explaining Dragon Riders to Eragon, mentioned that some Riders gained some dragon traits (sharpened teeth or long, elf-like ears) because of their bond

Josh Lebrun says:

Paolini started out looking like eragon and now he looks like roran

Hans // 瞿乐天 says:

Can we talk about how he made all his elves Japanese though

sebastien schubert says:

This guy is who pat rothfuss wants to be when he grows up.

OrangeLightning says:

I'm surprised it took me so long to get back to this video. But when I first saw the tile I immediately thought back to on writing and worldbuilding dragons and had a nervous chuckle. Then when I was watching this and heard, "Let's talk about Dragons" I was immediately like "OH NO XD" and broke into a chuckling fit. I'm glad to see how modestly he brought up the subject and was open instead of defensive.

Brynn Davidson says:

Finally got around to watching this. Makes me feel emotions. I've been an "aspiring author" for as long as I can remember, and the Inheritance Cycle–even if it wouldn't be my cup of tea today–was a huge inspiration to me. It was one of my favorite things I read as a preteen, and the thought that the first book was written by someone not much older than me really made me realize that my dreams of being an author weren't stupid or silly. This was the wholesome content I needed today.

TheDyscontinuum says:

What a blast from the past, I used to write letters to this dude as a kid, he's a huge inspiration for me

Aquamelon! says:

In the "Paolini calls me out" section, he mentions that he wishes that he made the influence of language and behavior on dragons go in reverse as well, where the riders become more draconic, and… as someone who read part of that series I REALLY wish that was a thing too. that's such a cool idea.

RedBlitzenwood says:

I just realized something! TSIASOS (the new sci-fi book) is 7 words! 7! (It should make sense if you've read the extras in the back.)

Simon Hirst says:

Hello. Can you do something with/about Phillip Pullman's HDM series? Great worldbuilding and plot pacing, as well as a great combination of hard and soft magic systems. He also published with Random House, so he and CP may have fun worldbuilding opinions about each other.

Samman Shrestha says:

If HTTYD 4 I feel like the creators should add the “purple death” and the “purple death” should be a Large titan wing that challenges toothless and toothless goes back from the hidden world to berk to get the help of hiccup and other people, later they found out a villain “enter name” trained the purple death and it took 3 years , and he wanted to rule the hidden world and hiccup and berk saved the hidden world. ( add the villain name ,cause idk a nice villain name )
