How on earth is the young elites for older readers? It may be dark but it doesn't mean its for young readers. I LOVED the book series as well as other books with morally grey main characters
I know I"m commenting on an old video, but! Overall, an intriguing list (a lot of the authors, I have already encountered and have been planning to read or have read some other series – case in point: Bardugo's Grisha trilogy is one I fully recommend to anyone who enjoys fantasy at any age – the world building is beautiful – I think Six of Crows exists in the universe as well).
Of note, hearing your description of Scythe and love for it reminds me of another book (not – probably – considered "YA Fantasy") but may bring up similar philosophical themes and questions is Saramago's Death with Interruptions.
Just seeing this video in my recommended- and such a great video!! I am reading court of mist and fury and I am in love!! Haha! I will be working my way through your list ☺️ great idea for a vid and well done!!
I read sarah j maas in 6th-7th grade😂
YA fantasy for older readers = you mean "New Adult" (ages from 17-26)
Ahhhh I love Six of Crows soooo much such a great book!! Thank you for the other recommendations I added multiple to my list of books to read!
Have you read some of the ones by Gena Showalter? The Everlife Series is amazing. I liked the Young Elites. ACOTAR series is actually seriously Adult Fantasy-heavy romance aka sex scenes. I LOVE Throne of Glass series but by Book 3 it’s an Adult Series. I love the world-building in it. Mistborne-it was so slow for me. I loved LIFELIK3 but man that’s definitely not a story for teenagers so much, but it depends on the person.
Harper Hall Trilogy was originally a young adult fantasy series. Yeah, all the rest of us loved it and now it’s in both sections. My opinion, read whatever you want to.
Yeah I read ACOTAR series when I was like 13… scarred for life. I was an innocent child 😂😂
I love YA and I am surprised you didn't mention Children of Blood and Bone. That is YA but also has adult appeal. I'm 59 and work in a middle school library.
