NGL, I low key hung on every word you shared about Glennon's book on being/feeling alone. It's really humbling to hear a child talk in that way. I remember feeling so alone many times as a child and so much so that I would cry myself to sleep many nights. I also recently found out that a friend I've lost touch with who had a child shortly after high school has now lost her child to suicide. Her child was not even a teenager yet and part of what her child/daughter left behind were breadcrumbs leading to one forgone conclusion, a conclusion that wasn't determined until after she had left this world – her daughter felt overwhelmingly alone. Anyway, feeling alone is sad and scary and often debilitating for me so it was semi comforting to know that it's a common feeling.
