We are LAUNCHING a new Horror film PlayList – BECAUSE we LOVE Horror Films !!! And here is the latest offering from the mind of Stephen King – even though it is a remake of a book adaptation from 1989!!!

Pet Sematary is a 2019 American supernatural horror film directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer and written by Jeff Buhler, from a screen story by Matt Greenberg. It is the second adaptation of the novel of the same name by Stephen King, after the 1989 film. The film stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow, and follows a family that discovers a mysterious graveyard in the woods behind their new home.

Talks for a new adaptation of Pet Sematary began in March 2010, with Greenberg initially writing the screenplay. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Schneider were revealed to be producing the remake with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo in talks to direct it. By December 2017, Paramount Pictures had greenlit a new adaptation of Stephen King’s novel with duo filmmakers Kölsch and Widmyer directing it. Principal photography commenced on June 18, 2018, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Filming wrapped August 11, 2018.

The film premiered at South by Southwest festival on March 16, 2019, and was released in the United States on April 5, 2019, by Paramount Pictures. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the atmosphere and performances but criticized the slow pacing and jump scares. Critics and audiences were both divided on the changes between the film and book, though many called it better than the 1989 adaption

This is a brilliant review. I watched it yesterday and was slightly disappointed as a huge Steven king fan. Great story idea but felt the ending was rushed and spoilt the film

What's your favourite Horror/supernatural films guys?

Josephine Kirby Sears says:

Watched this earlier. It was okay. My favourite actor in it was Churchy the cat, who gave some great humorous moments. A couple of things made no sense, or I missed something. The student. Had he been hit by a car or had he been reborn? It wasn’t clear. I assume reborn. The father is a doctor and as such, surely he’d have a) checked if his daughter was actually dead after being run over and b) would know she’d have been stapled back together after autopsy. Minor things, but a bit annoying. The pet cemetery actually had virtually nothing to do with the film did it? I agree with Maddie that the ‘back’ story was far scarier. The ending was also annoying and left the film, as so many films do now, with a ready-made opening for part 2. I don’t want to write or imagine my own ending in a book or film. I want that done for me, it’s why I read books and watch films, for escapism. Overall though, I did enjoy the film, I laughed more than expected and jumped in all the right places. It’s a 5/10 from me.

Christina Healy says:

Loved your review I rather the original but the remake's ending is better in my opinion. I think the boy did die as at the beginning of the film they show a bloody handprint in the car window so that is to say he died. The song pet sementary by the rommones at the end of the credits was the same song at the end of the original.

Aaron Gregory says:

Do a trailer review of Cobra Kai season 2

Charlie Robert says:

John Lithgow played the Dad in 'Harry and The Hendersons' 😂 Absolute classic. Harry is Bigfoot, who is the spitting image of Olly Murs 😂 Look up the comparison 😅

He didn't play the yeti he brought the yeti home lol, was a great comedy lol
This film looks good will watch this one, the old one was good xxx

Judy Phillips says:

Definitely watch the original one and see if you think it stands up to this one. I'm betting this one is a bit more gory! Sounds like they didn't veer off too far from the book/original movie (except switching the dead boy to the girl). Fred Gwynn who played the old man in the first one (most famous for playing sweet Herman Munster in the old The Munsters series)… he was something like 6'5"– a giant of a man.. and seeing him brought down & killed by that little baby boy was crazy! x

The word 'cemetery' was indeed purposely misspelled by King to further convey the idea the sign was recreated by kids.
