Grace: A Memoir, Grace Coddington,Michael Roberts, Random House

Cute, witty, fun & wild … that comes to my mind when I am holding the “Grace, A memoir” book in my hands and flicking through the pages.

This book is not a coffee table book but I had to review it to you as I just love the whole style in & outside of this book- even though I personally would have included glossy paper & images. I am personally not a fan of the color orange but when it comes to the orange of Hermés, carrots and the hair of Grace I do confess to admire this particular shade of orange (ONLY)! The book is a mix of coffee table book style influences in a small scale but with continuously funny storytelling written text which allows us to dive deep into Graces world of fashion. I adore the little sketches on the pages, including her favorite outfits and memories of get together with the crème de la crème of the fashion society , all sketches are suitable to the story which one reads at present, is almost like a children book and that’s what I love it is not the most clean, slick and sophisticated style of book but it’s like we all know Grace since her appearance in the September Issue – Grace is a fairy you allows us to be part in her visually breathtaking fashion stories/editorials Grace is our Grace in wonderland of fashion and this innocence is reflecting throughout the book. I like the relatively short chapters; they are mainly on people, which is my favorite part? Well of course the chapter on ANNA (pg.240) but also all other chapters tell us a inside view from the most interesting people known and unknown of Graces personal fashion matrix defiantly worth a read and it does look divine on any coffee table, see image with my orange/red Diptyque candle on Eileen Gray table, what you think ? Red hot…Grace right ? I think it is a wonderful book even though I would love to have done it with Grace (next one ) I think it is done extremely well & personally just like Grace is herself!
